3 PDF files with 30 journal prompts.
Journaling is incredibly healing. I have put together 30 topics to get your hand moving on the page. With these topics, I suggest writing the first thing that comes to mind. Do not overthink it, and if you trail off into other topics during the process, go with it! Journaling is all about opening your brain up, like a locked safe.
We need to access suppressed emotions and question what makes us sad, angry, happy, or unhappy. The more we know about ourselves, the stronger we become as people. I recommend writing on paper, or in a journal. When we write, we retain information better and learn better. It is also a physical activity, so when you journal about emotions or events, it is actually helping you process them. Contrary to what many people think, simply going over things in your brain doesn’t do it. That is of course a starting place, but do yourself a favor and put your pen to the paper.
Do not judge yourself for what you write. You don’t have to show anyone. Think of your journal as the place to release anything needed without judgment. If you write about anything that needs to be released, such as a bad memory, negative thoughts towards yourself, letting go of anger, etc. feel free to rip up or 9safely) burn the page as a way of releasing.
A lot of these topics will stir up scary emotions, memories, or thoughts. It is always a good idea to have the support of a therapist if something was EXTREMELY traumatic, and may cause you to go into severe PTSD mode when thinking about it. So start small and be gentle with yourself. The more you journal about these the easier it will get.
Confronting negative emotions and letting yourself feel them, is the way to healing yourself. They are already inside you being pushed down, so confronting them just allows them to be seen and felt, so they may heal. The more you understand why you have certain behaviors and self-limiting beliefs, the more you can rewrite your story and change your way of thinking to something that benefits you.
